OHSWEKEN, ON – January 16, 2019- Chiefswood Park and Gathering Place by the Grand Event Centre (GPG) are now under the management of Six Nations Tourism, a department of Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC). The two sites are offering a Community Partnership Program to groups and organizations who’s programming directly benefits the Six Nations Community, its members, and seeks to increase the profile of Six Nations locally, nationally, or internationally.

The Community Partnership Program was developed to support and foster the amazing voices within the community through the sponsorship of venue space either at GPG or Chiefswood Park. An information session is being held on January 16, 2019 for the Spring Intake from 6-8pm at the GPG (2593 Chiefswood Rd).

These two Tourism venues are revenue-generating assets which will ultimately assist with the betterment of the Six Nations Community through annual distributions of surplus profits to the Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust (EDT) by SNGRDC. The Community Partnership Program was designed to ensure the venues remain accessible to the groups and organizations in the Community who host non-profit events or initiatives that support the Six Nations Community and its members. Programming may include education conferences, music concerts, workshops, performances, cultural teachings, and much more.

All completed applications are assessed in accordance with the Six Nations Community Plan and the Community Partnership Criteria, while taking into account the level of impact of the initiative. Successful Applicants will be notified February 15, 2019 for the Spring Intake Session, and September 23, 2019 for the Fall Intake Session.  Last year the program supported organizations and events such as:

  • GREAT 2018 Job Fair
