Grand River Champion of Champions Pow Wow is THE Pow Wow
By Tourism Staff
Ready for one of the biggest Pow Wow events in North America?
It’s right here on Six Nations during the fourth weekend of July. Make plans.
The competition is set on the banks of the Grand River at Chiefswood Park, behind the mansion of famed Mohawk Poetess Pauline Johnson and has been in full swing every summer for over 35 years.
Dancers and singers from across North America attend to compete for that Champion of Champion’s title but more importantly enjoy and share the pow wow spirit that brings together people from all nations.
Our huge crafts and vendors area allows visitors the chance to take home the best in traditional and contemporary Indigenous arts and crafts. Looking for moccasins for the toddler? Or a new, unique painting for above the fireplace? Our craft market has it all.
Come and see the hundreds of dancers, scores of big pow wow drums and singers, and experience the rich, always evolving culture of the Six Nations people!
Chiefswood Park is located on Hwy 54 between Brantford and Caledonia, near the hamlet of Middleport in Brant County.
This year’s pow wow runs from July 22- 23.
